IMCA-CAT Shipment Tool is a program for reading and writing IMCA-CAT SynchWeb shipment CSV files (a.k.a. IMCA-CAT Mail-In Manager shipment CSV files).

The tool provides the following commands:

• sort: sorts a shipment by container name and then by pin position

Here's an example of sorting a shipment to the standard output stream:

$ imca-shipment-tool sort foo.csv

Install

• From the source distribution:

  Build and install according to the README.md file in the archive.

• From the relocatable binary package for Windows:

  Ensure Ruby >= 2.0.0 is installed. RubyInstaller works well. Unless you need the development kit for something else, you should get the without Devkit version (i.e., the version without the development kit) since it's smaller. Even if you get the without Devkit version, if you are presented with a checkbox to run ridk install or to set up MSYS2 or the development toolchain, you should deselect it because you don't need it.

  Ensure ruby is on the command search path. For example, type ruby --version in a command-line interpreter and ensure it prints the version of the Ruby interpreter.

  Extract the archive to the desired location and rename the folder to IMCA-CAT Shipment Tool. The rename is optional, but it will save you from needing to update the command search path in the future if you install a new version.

  Add the package's bin folder to the system PATH environment variable. For example, if you installed the package at C:\Program Files\IMCA-CAT Shipment Tool, you would add the following to the system PATH environment variable: C:\Program Files\IMCA-CAT Shipment Tool\bin. If you just want to install the package for the current user, not for all users, you can modify the user PATH environment variable instead of the system PATH environment variable.

  Paths in the PATH environment variable are separated by a semicolon (;). The PATH environment variable can be set in Windows 10 by context-clicking on the Start menu and choosing System. Then click Advanced system settings in the Related settings section. Click the Advanced tab, and then click Environment Variables.

  Modifying the PATH environment variable is optional, but if you don't do it, then imca-shipment-tool won't be found on the command search path, so you'd have to use its absolute path to run it.
